We are so thankful for all the amazing parents that are involved in the lives of their young people at our church.  We wanted to write & keep you up to speed on what we have planned for this summer.  We hope you will make some amazing memories this summer with your family, and hope that the events we have planned will help your young person to grow spiritually & make this summer their best one yet!

Here are a few thoughts from May we wanted to share with you:

We closed out our sermon series called “Epic Dreams: Loved by God”.  We dove into the stories of several Bible characters & talked about the journey they walked through in their life to fulfill the dream God had given them.   Our desire was for all the young people in GU to stir up the dreams God has put in the heart & receive fresh inspiration to run hard after God & chase those dreams!

We have just launched our next series called “Stirred, not Shaken”.  We launched this series last week at our GU Merge service.  The Merge was an amazing night, with over 500 young people in attendance at our RB campus!  Young people were saved & rededicated their lives, and the entire night was wonderful!!!  In the new series, we will be talking about prayer & being stirred up spiritually so you won’t be shaken by the things of this world & hindrances that come our way.  We have also encouraged everyone in GU to take the 30/30 Challenge.  This is a challenge to spend 30 minutes a day for 30 days in prayer & devotions.  It’s already been so exciting to hear testimonies of young people “stepping it up” in their devotions since we started this challenge last week (June 3rd)!

We also wanted to let you know that we will be having GU Parents meetings on each campus coming up in the next few weeks.  We would love for you to attend these meetings if at all possible so we can communicate with you about a few things that are coming up, as well as answer any questions you may have & get to know you a little bit more.  We want to make sure we are partnering with you as we work with your young people!

Dates for the parents meetings are:
(RB & 217)  June 27th from 1pm-1:30pm
(MP)  June 13th from 1pm- 1:30pm

June:
9-  RB GU leaders meeting at 9pm (after service)
13- MP Parents meeting (1pm)
18- Jr High parties (check with your campus team leader for details)
19-  High School parties (check with your campus team leader for details)
20- Father’s Day
25-  Young Adult parties (check with your campus team leader for details)
27-  RB & 217 Parents meetings (1pm)

27-  GU leaders meeting (all campuses combined)

July:
1-12  Romania & San Diego Missions trips!
7-  GU BBQ at all 3 campuses
14-  Merge night with Planetshakers worship band!  (All 3 campuses at RB)
22-24 The Cove (Young Adults watersports weekend)-  Cost is $60 (includes campsite, boats, parking fee & dinners) & registration is available online or at church
31-  Camp car wash 10am-2pm (required for everyone requesting financial assistance for camp)

CAMP:
GU Camp will take place this year from Mon, Aug 23- Fri, Aug 27th.  Registration is available online at www.generationunleashed.com Click on the campus home page.  Under the blog about camp you can register.  You can either pay a downpayment of $100 or full payment of $325 when you register.  Camp financial assistance forms can also be downloaded from the site.

Also, as a reminder, here is our weekly Wednesday night schedule:

5:30pm Jr High 222 Groups (on-site at each campus)
6pm Pre-service prayer (For all GU leaders & young people)
6:30pm Pizza café ($1 per slice of pizza, $1 for drinks, and free for visitors).
7pm-9pm GU service (Dynamic worship, powerful Word, prayer & regular age-distinctive break-out sessions)

Generation Unleashed Camp – Wild Horse Canyon! August 23-27 (Monday to Friday). It’s hard to believe Generation Camp is right around the corner!!!  This year our theme is Beyond, based on Ephesians 3:20! We are excited that Pastors Patrick Kietly & Chad Veach will be joining us as  guest speakers.  This summer camp is for students and young adults currently in Jr high, High School & College. We would like to encourage you to register as soon as possible! Registration Cost:  $325. There will be loads of fun activities!

Prayer is something that we need to stir ourselves to do more.  Nothing is worsre then when something is meant to be stirred up and it isn’t… when Oatmeal that is lumpy it makes me sick, it must be properly stirred to taste right.  Christians are the same, they have to be stirred up about prayer oin order to impact the world around them in the right way. Prayer needs to become a priority in the life of all believers!

3 Keys to Stirring up your Prayer life:

1.   Resource your prayer life

• • Get a “PURSUE”  Journal, fill out the prayer card…

2.   Make a daily plan to be in prayer, prioritize it in your schedule

3.  Make reading the word part of your daily devotional / prayer time.

Join is in our GU 30/30 challenge where we are asking all of GU to spend 30 minutes a day doing devotions for the next 30 days. This will be an awesome time as we all “Stir” ourselves up to seek God!
